Want to help run r/MemeExchangeCommunism? A new mod slot is open. Any member can put themselves forward — the community votes, the community decides.
Mods keep r/MemeExchangeCommunism running. That means enforcing the rules, reviewing reports, keeping spam out, and making sure the community stays what it's supposed to be — a place where memes are free to post and share.
This isn't a power trip. It's a responsibility. You represent 36,900+ members who trusted the community's process to put you there.
All mods beyond the founding team are elected. u/Stunning-Host-5936 runs and independently audits every election. No appointments, no favouritism — the community votes and that's the result.
Posts and comments flagged by members need a human decision. Remove, approve, or escalate to the team.
11 rules including zero tolerance on hate speech, doxxing, and death threats. Know them. Apply them consistently.
Repost farms, self-promo, currency farming — all covered by rules. MemeCoin's Obsidian anti-cheat helps, but human eyes catch the rest.

Hard requirements first, nice-to-haves second. If you meet the musts, the rest is a bonus.
Your account needs a real history. Brand-new accounts with no comment or post history won't be accepted.
Must haveAll 11 community rules including the 3 amendments. You should be able to explain each one before you apply.
Must haveYou don't have to be online 24/7. But you need to check the sub regularly — at least a few times a week.
Must haveModerated another sub before? That's a big plus. Not a deal-breaker if you haven't, but mention it in your application.
Nice to haveUnderstanding how the currency system and Obsidian anti-cheat work helps — especially for spotting farming violations.
Nice to haveThe sub was created because a community banned image replies. That principle still matters. You should agree with it.
Nice to haveEvery moderator who wasn't part of the founding team won their place through a community vote. This will be the third.
The community's first ever vote. u/CertainYam8162 opened nominations, members voted, and u/North_Potential_4713 won — becoming the first elected moderator on the sub.
The second election ran a few months after the first. u/Some_Kinda_Username won and joined the team. Still active today.
The third slot is open. Applications are being accepted now. The community will vote. The winner joins the mod team.
Every election is run and independently audited by u/Stunning-Host-5936. No backroom deals. No appointments. The process is transparent.
